The latest venture from Chef-Owner Ryan Blackburn and his team is The Schelly, a small plates casual dining eatery, named after a rare freshwater fish, found exclusively in Brothers Water, Haweswater, Red Tarn and Ullswater.
Located directly above the Old Stamp House, The Schelly seats up to 30 guests including a table for larger parties which is situated close to the pass, enabling diners to get up close and personal with the chefs as they cook.
The casual eatery serves a relaxed menu featuring simpler versions of the same quality dishes of Ryan’s innovative dishes from The Old Stamp House menu, alongside a series of dishes inspired by his love of culture and travel, many of which are already experienced in Cumbria’s diverse culinary repertoire. It goes without saying that naturally every single dish Ryan creates will utilise the very best produce available to deliver exciting plates of food.
Diners will be able to enjoy an extensive selection of wines from a range of small-scale growers, which will be available by the glass or by the bottle, each carefully sourced from around the UK and Europe by Ryan’s award-winning sommelier team.
